Family History Assignment

Research the history of your family. Interview family members (grandparents) to find out: where your family came from (country of origin), why they left their homeland, why they came to the United States, etc. You may use your own memory as well.

When writing the paper, start with the first ancestor you have information about. Then continue chronologically to the present (you).  Your paper should relate to events that occurred in history. For example, if one of your relatives served in the Civil War write about his experience as compared to the average soldier’s life.

Requirements:

1.      type a 1,000 word paper, double spaced, stapled

2.      show two primary sources (copy and put at the end of your paper)

3.      use a substantial number of the interview questions

4.      fill out an ancestor chart (both sides of the family)

5.      due on December 13, 2010 (1/2 credit if late)

        

This assignment is worth 75 points.
